The day after I forgot to take my medicine....

Yesterday was a very interesting day.   The night before, it was late and I forgot to take my Primidone.   So yesterday I went without, more so to see what would happen.   It made for an interesting day.   I had a doctors appointment at 11:45 and he mentioned that it seemed that my tremors were worse and wondered if I needed to go visit my neurologist.   So I told him about how I forgot to take the medicine the night before.   He understood and went on with my check-up.   However, through the day, I could definitely feel the difference through out my body.   I felt jittery all over and my head shook pretty bad.   Needless to say, I was glad when it was time to go to bed and get the medicine in my system again.   Fun little side effect this morning.....extra sleepy!!!

Found another article from 2011 that talks about the new guidelines set in October of that year for treatment of ET.   This article names several different medications that may be used for treatment.

Tremors at church during communion

Well....it happened again.   Luckily my son was there to help.  I tried to pick up a cup from the communion tray and before I even touched it, the tremors kicked in.   I had taken my meds about 30 before church started, but it didn't seem to matter.  My hands were going to splash it around.  So my son gave me his little cup and he took another one out for himself.  If this keeps up, I'll have to talk to the doc about it.

Went to the Neurology doctors office on Tuesday and got some awesome information!!!! The head tremors that I thought would always be there have a fix!!! Of all things....BOTOX injections!!!! So I'm going to seriously think about it for a month or so and then decide if I really want to go down that road. Insurance should cover it 100% and I would have to go back every 3 to 6 months to redo the injection. It's put in the back of the neck after the neck is numbed up with an ice pack. The only bad side effect is if you receive too much Botox, then your head will hang for about 3 months, but they start out with a low dosage to see what works for your body. I have to say....I LOVE SCIENCE!!!!
